About Pack 400
Cub Scout Pack 400 is a welcoming and active scouting community serving boys and girls from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Our pack is chartered by Aldersgate Scouting Association, located at 1320 Umstead Road in Durham, NC, and we meet throughout the school year at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Scouts who complete the Cub program move on to Troop 400, also based at Aldersgate, continuing their scouting journey with familiar faces and strong community ties.
Meeting Schedule
Pack Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Scouts Room above the gym at Aldersgate. These meetings bring all dens together for group activities, themed programs, guest speakers, and special celebrations.
We do not hold Pack meetings in July or August, but we stay active throughout the summer with family-friendly outings and special events.
Den Meetings take place on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, unless a den makes alternate arrangements for time, date, or location. Den meetings are where scouts work toward rank advancement, complete hands-on activities, and build close bonds with their grade-level peers.
Activities and Events
We are a large and very active Pack led by committed parent volunteers who focus on fun, family, and learning by doing. Our scouts participate in:

Two family camping trips each year (Fall and Spring), featuring outdoor skills, games, STEM projects, campfire cooking, and s’mores.

The Pinewood Derby, where scouts design, build, and race their own wooden cars.

Hikes and outdoor adventures, often held locally and open to all families.

STEM-based activities, service projects, crafts, and games throughout the year.

Rocket Day, a highlight of the fall season where scouts launch model rockets they've built. This is a Pack-wide event and also a great opportunity for new families to come see what we’re all about.

Annual celebrations including our Blue & Gold Banquet, Graduation, and other recognition events.
We also fundraise through popcorn sales, which help fund awards, events, camping supplies, and Pack T-shirts provided every other year.
